Psalm 23 Meditations

Psalm 23 is a timely meditation for this season. The Table is therefore diving into a study of this guiding passage. If you miss our Wednesday worship gatherings on Zoom, or want to re-listen to Pastor Aaron's weekly devotion, check out our "Meditations" page. May you trust in Jesus, the Good Shepherd, as you navigate this season.

No Table Gatherings for Now

At this time we are going to postpone official gatherings. We will reevaluate in a couple weeks. With that stated, here are a few more thoughts/invitations :

*Staying spiritually connected. I hope to give a couple short video mediations a week. I will send links to my vimeo page. If you want to interact on the meditation, feel feel to comment on the video. Also, if you want to participate, let me know how we can be praying specifically for your family. Let me know if I can share your requests/praises w/ the group, and I will pass it on.

*Staying socially connected. Staying socially connected can manifest in a few different ways. Let others know if you are heading on a hike, etc. (if you want company). While minding social distancing, we hope to have a campfire at our house at some point. We can obviously stay connected individually w/ texts, facetime, phone calls, etc. However you choose, I invite you to make an effort to connect w/ your church family.

*Serving. In all this, our communities are finding new challenges. Many neighbors have a heightened sense of fear at this time. This is an opportunity for us to get creative and see how we can serve others. We will be wise in how we serve, but we should remember that we carry good news w/ us. Many around us could use some good news, or receive tangible blessings. So, if you have an idea to help those around you, share it! And whatever you do (whether it is having your kids write thank you cards to public servants, or helping others w/ child care, or making a meal) I invite you to make service a part of your new schedule.

*Supporting Local. With schools and in-dining restaurants closed (among other things), our local economy is going to feel it. I'm not worried if Amazon will make it. So, I invite you to support local businesses in this time (take out meals, book stores, whatever).

*Giving. The financial needs of the church remain. I invite you to continue giving either by mail (1050 Larrabee Avenue Suite 104 418, Bellingham, WA 98225) or online ( https://thetablebellingham.org/give )

Let's stay connected. Let's serve one another. Let's support our community. Let's show the love of Jesus.

You all are in my prayers. Let me know how I can serve you and your family.

~Aaron

Lenten Series with Our Saviour's Lutheran Church

Join The Table and Our Saviour's Lutheran Church as we come together to reflect on the cross of Christ. We will begin each week with a shared meal at 5:30pm. In this Lenten season we ask, "What needs to die in our lives and world, so that we may live more fully in Christ?" We will reflect upon this through song, prayers, and meditations, with a service starting at 6pm.

The Prayer of Jesus: January - February Series

When His disciples asked Him how to pray, Jesus taught them what we call "the Lord's Prayer." This prayer reveals to us the character of God, His heart for the world, and invites us to live into a new counter-cultural reality. Join us as we explore this great prayer of Jesus.

The Table meets on Wednesdays at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church (1720 Harris Avenue, Bellingham, WA 98225). We will start with a shared meal at 5:30pm. Bring a dish to share if you are able. This is followed by children and adult classes from 6–7pm. The children of The Table participate in Godly Playa curriculum that helps kids explore the Christian faith with story, wonder, and play.

Invite a friend and join us. Everyone is welcome!

Waiting with Lectio Divina: November–December Series

In the face of the chaos of the holiday season, we long for peace. For three weeks, The Table will slow down and consider our longings for Jesus to bring greater peace and redemption. Using the ancient practice of Lectio Divina, a type of listening prayer and meditation, we will consider the words of the prophet Isaiah. The aim is to slow down and set our eyes on the coming of the Prince of Peace, Jesus.

The Colossian Experiment: October–November Series

One of the greatest criticisms of the church is hypocrisy. In the Apostle Paul’s letter to the church in Colossae we find a picture of a community living their faith with authenticity. In this 4-week study, we will examine the letter to the Colossians, while setting up a real-life experiment to see if/how we can insert specific practices that might help us to live our faith with greater congruency.
